About inspirezone
Introductions
Hi!
I’m Fum, and I run this site. I’ve worked as a Software Engineer for over 7 years. In my current role I work as a Tech Lead in the Embedded programming space. A large part of my work involves playing with electronic devices and programming them to do cool stuff!
(If you want to learn more about Embedded programming see our blog posts on this category)
I’m a great believer in intentional continuous learning. Not just building up on what you know, but what you don’t know.
I enjoy learning new things and it keeps me motivated. My work mainly requires me to use the C programming language but I’m tipping my toes into other areas such as front-end dev, game dev and random Python applications (who doesn’t love Python 😁).
On my personal GitHub page you’ll find some of the projects I’m working on. I also maintain the repositories hosted on the inspirezone GitHub page. You’re more than welcome to submit a pull request if you wish to make a contribution on any of the repositories!
How inspirezone can help you!
Enough about me. You’ve come here for a reason right?
Are you totally new to the world coding? Are you well experienced? Or somewhere in between?
Regardless of your level of experience, it’s essential that you’re always brushing up on your existing skills and keeping an eye out for changes in trends in the software industry. (If you’re new to the programmer life, you’ll realise the importance of this soon enough!)
One of the best ways to stay in touch is to be part of a developer community. That’s where we come in.
Here at inspirezone, our goal is to form a community that will act as a giant motivational and accountability group for every developer that’s part of us.
This isn’t just a community where you can join and lay back. We are looking for active developers who are actively seeking new challenges on the never ending journey of growing our skills.
This is achieved by working on projects together to build up a portfolio of open source projects. Having something to show is vital and we work of the motto that the best way to learn is by doing! Coding collaboration is a key part of our community and how we encourage our members to grow their skills.
Our community will also feature accountability dev groups, where you are placed in smaller groups to help others on a similar path as you and keep each other on track.
How the community works will also be tuned according to the needs of our members as we are a community for devs by devs.
If you’re serious about accelerating your growth as a programmer and this community sounds like something you’re interested in, we more than welcome you to JOIN US!
Why does inspirezone exist?
An easy-going development community
We are an online blog and community focusing on bringing together people with an interest in coding. This is done by providing an easy means to reach others who are willing to team up with you on any development project you wish to undertake.
The idea is to provide a platform that allows everyone to develop their abilities by actively working on projects. This is a great way to ensure you’re coding regularly! And if you’re the sort of person that puts off project ideas you’ve wanted to work on, submitting it here and collaborating with others is a great way to kick things off and hold yourself accountable till it’s completed.
All levels of experience are welcome
You don’t have to be an experienced coder to get involved. The goal is to provide projects and content useful to anyone. We also provide posts on tech related topics that will aid in growing your skills or just as a fun read.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions when you’re stuck on a problem or just wish to ask for advice like you would a friend or fellow co-worker!
Learn and enjoy coding and collaboration
If you’re a hobbyist coder or a beginner, you’ve probably not had the chance to work on a project from start to finish. If you’re experienced and code as a job, perhaps you want to work on something fun with others in a non-corporate setting.
The goal is to provide a platform so that anyone can make their development goals and projects ideas a reality!
FAQ
Where can I interact with community members?
Members are given access to the inspirezone Github organisation to interact with others. Here we have discussions and share ideas. This is where the community exists for now but may change or expand as we grow and receive more feedback.
How do I submit a development project idea?
You can do so using the contact form here to reach us.
What details should I provide when submitting a project idea?
At the very least, a brief description of what you want to achieve through the development project. But the more info, the better!
It can be something as generic as ‘A project to automate my backups using any language’. In this case we will suggest something more specific such as ‘A project to automate a daily backup of your files using Python’.
What programming languages are allowed?
Any! Although keep in mind the more ‘popular’ a language is, the easier it will be to find developers to collaborate with you on a project using that language. However, a project based on any programming language is perfectly fine.
I don’t have any project Ideas. Can I still be involved?
Of course! You can join with any of the existing projects found on the dev zone page without submitting one yourself. To get involved and contribute to projects on our github all you need to do is sign up then register interest for a project.
There’s no answer to my question!
No problem. Submit your question by getting in touch here and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
